Kelley is a local artist from Vacaville whose “day job” is graphic artist. She’s been creative all her life and since 1996 has been doing computer graphics. When she’s not working on a computer, she’s burning the day away.
Pyrography (writing with fire), also known as “wood burning,” has been used for hundreds of years. In the past 40 years, it’s made a resurgence in the art world using modern electric tools.
Kelley has been burning since 2015 and has no plans to slow down any time soon. In 2018, she won first place in her category at the Vacaville Art Gallery Juried Art Show. She’s burned everything from simple wooden spoons to elaborate electric guitars. Her ultimate goal is to do a table or perhaps a full-sized door. If it’s unfinished wood, look out!

She occasionally teaches pyrography classes, and also does commissioned work. If you’d like something done or are interested in learning this fun art form, send her a text or email!
