MAGICAL ACRYLIC POURS! with Christina Miles

Majestic Sea

What is all this hype about acrylic pouring you say? Well, it’s fun, it’s messy, and it’s magical!

In this class, you’ll learn how to create your own magical acrylic pour with just a few simple steps. Plan to get messy and just let loose! There are a TON of videos out there, but why watch a video when you can create your own acrylic pour in Christina’s class! Metallic paints are a must, and glitter is a plus! Come join Chris, bring a canvas or two,* a handful of acrylic paints, an apron, a few other items listed below, along with your wild imagination! To see more of her acrylic pours, check out her portfolio at

Items to bring with you to class:

  • Apron and paper towels.
  • A disposable tin pan large to fit the size of your canvas with some space around it so you can pick up the canvas easily.

Supplies provided by Chris:

OIL & COLD WAX PAINTING with Suzanne Bell

Ready for some fun?  This introductory class focuses on the fundamentals of working with cold wax. Cold wax is combined with oil paints creating a unique and versatile medium that does not require a heat source or fusing tools; much different than the hot wax methods used in encaustics.

This amazing medium has great depth and lends itself to representational imagery as well as abstraction. Emphasis is placed on the understanding of materials, supports, tools and techniques… using oil paints, dry pigments, a squeegee, brayer, palette knife, our fingers and other non-traditional tools; working wet-in-wet, wet-on-dry; and the development of rich textures, lines, marks, oil paint sticks, incising, scraping back, color and composition.

Come to learn, have fun and get messy with this amazing medium!

  • Workshop fee: $95 payable to Vacaville Art League
  • Supply Fee: $45 payable to instructor
  • When: April 8, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
