Happy New Year from all of us at Vacaville Art Gallery.
A VERY special thank you to John Young with 95.3 KUIC’s Hometown Mornings show for inviting us into the studio to record a segment about the gallery. You can listen to John Young and Ron Brown, Monday-Friday 5-9am. John leads hometown mornings playing the best variety of the 80’s, 90’s and today and talking about local issues. Ron brings you the Hometown traffic updates every 10 minutes, every weekday morning. Plus, he’s keeping you informed with local and national news twice an hour. https://www.kuic.com/shows/hometown-morning-show/
And a BIG THANK YOU to our many visitors, members, and Teresa Krebs (owner of A Taste of Happy) who donated a ton of wonderful pastries!
Stop by the gallery before January 19th to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award! The winner will receive a one-year Exhibiting Membership and a $50 gift certificate for Blick Art Materials.
The Vacaville Art League is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and promotion of the visual arts.
Our goals are to create an atmosphere that encourages community participation in the visual arts; provide artists with exhibition space and opportunities to share and develop creative skills; and stimulate and educate members of the community by bringing an awareness and appreciation of fine art through exhibitions, shows, workshops, classes, and demonstrations.
The Vacaville Art League was formed in 1963 when there was no facility to meet in, nor space to display artists’ work. In May of 1965, the City of Vacaville leased the circa 1880’s Segura home to the league for use as an art gallery. Fundraising generated income for materials and local businesses donated many supplies. League members immediately rolled up their sleeves and set to work preparing the old Victorian house for its new life as an art gallery. The Vacaville Art Gallery doors have remained open for over 50 years!
