The Vacaville Art League is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and promotion of the visual arts.
Our goals are to create an atmosphere that encourages community participation in the visual arts; provide artists with exhibition space and opportunities to share and develop creative skills; and stimulate and educate members of the community by bringing an awareness and appreciation of fine art through exhibitions, shows, workshops, classes, and demonstrations.
The Vacaville Art League was formed in 1963 when there was no facility to meet in, nor space to display artists’ work. In May of 1965, the City of Vacaville leased the circa 1880’s Segura home to the league for use as an art gallery. Fundraising generated income for materials and local businesses donated many supplies. League members immediately rolled up their sleeves and set to work preparing the old Victorian house for use an an art gallery. The Vacaville Art Gallery doors have remained open for over 50 years.
