The Vacaville Art League is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and promotion of the visual arts.
Our goals are to create an atmosphere that encourages community participation in the visual arts; to provide artists with exhibition space and opportunities to share and develop creative skills; and to stimulate and educate members of the community by bringing an awareness and appreciation of fine art through exhibitions, shows, workshops, classes, and demonstrations.
The Vacaville Art League was formed in 1963 with over 100 people attending the first meeting. However, there was no facility to meet in, nor a place to display the artists’ work. In May of 1965, the City of Vacaville agreed to lease the circa 1880’s Segura home to the Art League, but the old Victorian needed much work. Many of the members rolled up their sleeves and prepared the building. Fundraising projects generated enough money for the materials needed. Local businesses generously gave many supplies. The Gallery's doors have remained open for over 50 years.
